The 3Com® Embedded Firewall policy server is software that lets you centrally manage 3Com Embedded Firewalls—consisting of a 3CR990 NIC and client license—installed across your LAN. Together, the policy server, NICs, and licenses provide distributed security that protects your network from inside attacks, something a perimeter firewall can’t do. And because the firewall capabilities are embedded in the NIC hardware, they deliver what software applications can’t: tamper-resistant network protection. In short, the 3Com Embedded Firewall gives your valued business partners, employees, and e-business customers easy access to the data they need, and nothing else.
- In addition to the policy server, each 3Com Embedded Firewall requires one 3CR990 NIC
plus client license per system.
